To eminent personalities in political and cultural spheres, a statement by a collective of women journalists, Network of Women in Media (NWMI) Kerala chapter :
Women journalists in Kerala have been protesting since November 2019 against the misogyny of a section of the “enlightened” society of Kerala comprising political activists and media professionals. With deep distress, we note that we are yet to see an end to this injustice, which takes on new forms as time passes, even during a raging pandemic.
The string of events began with the assault one of us had to face at the hands of M. Radhakrishnan, then secretary of the Thiruvananthapuram Press Club. Radhakrishnan was not only the secretary of the press club which has over 400 members, including the survivor of the assault and her husband, but he was also a colleague of the survivor.
A group of people led by Radhakrishnan trespassed into her house at night, harassed, and assaulted her in front of her young children in a despicable act of ‘moral policing’.
The survivor tried calling her husband, who was away at work on night shift, but Radhakrishnan had no misgivings about physically restraining her. The ordeal continued until the survivor’s husband rushed home after learning about the incident. The police have investigated and submitted a chargesheet upon a complaint registered by the survivor.
The media organization where Radhakrishnan and the survivor are working conducted a probe and he was subsequently suspended indefinitely from the post of proof reader. He has not yet been taken back on the job.
The Kerala Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ), where both Radhakrishnan and the survivor are members, suspended Radhakrishnan pending inquiry. He was ousted from the union based on the inquiry report.
Radhakrishnan was suspended from the Press Club following a march staged by the NWMI, with ample backing of civil society, in December 2019. During this period, the lone political party leader who made a speech supporting him was Union Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan.
A group of women journalists raised slogans in front of the Press Club office condemning Radhakrishnan. He was hidden by his accomplices in an ante-room at the Press Club and was finally arrested by the police from the very same spot. All these developments grabbed headlines in the print and visual media alike.
Consequently, the general body of the Press Club, in accordance with its rules, removed him from primary membership. Unfortunately, a large section of the public are unaware of a sequel to this episode.
Radhakrishnan has been back at Press Club since April 2021, citing a court order which he claims is in his favour. In a desperate measure to whitewash his offences, he seems to have grabbed the opportunity to appear like a good Samaritan by involving in customary activities undertaken by the Press Club such as running a community kitchen during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Radhakrishnan began to share the stage with political party leaders in an attempt to pretend he has been absolved from the heinous crime he has committed. Personal vilification of women journalists who were at the forefront of the struggle against the offender, including spreading obscenities about them, became rampant. And now we are forced to act in the face of such extreme acts of violence.
Radhakrishnan is acting in such gross disregard for public morality solely because he has the support of an accomplice who is employed in one of the oldest media organizations in Kerala.
A group of women journalists had submitted a representation to the resident editor of the said organization and updated him on the injustice involved in the matter. That editor had unequivocally assured us that a journalist of his organization would never support someone who was suspended by another media organization for assaulting a woman. We would like to believe that those concerned are not aware of this
assurance being violated.
It looks like Radhakrishnan will stoop to any extent to regain his power as the Press Club office-bearer. Those who contested and won the club elections from his panel are blindly supporting him. For them, it’s just a matter of social recognition that comes along with their posts.
But it should be reiterated that justice is being denied to a woman who was woefully wronged and a group of women who stood with her. The woman who was subjected to the assault and subsequent vicious attacks from many quarters has been undergoing treatment for severe trauma.
Radhakrishnan and his ‘panelists’ have been bringing in senior political party leaders to the community kitchen on two pretexts.
1. The assault survivor has withdrawn her case against him.
2. Women journalists are on the protest path only because they aspire to take up the reins of the Press Club for themselves or those who are backing them.
Both are false.
1. The case has not been withdrawn. The insult and assault are not “contained” by any means of “compromise”.
2. None of us are interested in taking over as officer-bearers of Trivandrum Press Club. Anyone who is not an accused in a gender assault case can govern the club. How can someone who has been under suspension for more than a year be back as an office-bearer one fine morning?
Many leaders, knowingly or unknowingly, accept the invitation to share a stage with Radhakrishnan. We have come to know that this is made possible by his accomplice using his credential as an employee of a venerable organization. Those at its helm may not be aware of this abuse.
At least some leaders have, after coming to know about his criminal act, refused such invitations. Kanam Rajendran, A. K. Antony, Binoy Viswam, and Sivan Kutty exercised such prudence. At the same time, Ramesh Chennithala earlier and A. Vijayaraghavan and Antony Raju in recent days were misguided in this regard.
What kind of message do those leaders who share a stage with a gender criminal give the people? Were all those women-centric promises you put down in your election manifestos an eyewash? Please desist from indulging an accused in a criminal case and sabotaging a struggle for justice is our humble request to each one of you.
It was only recently that the Women in Cinema Collective questioned the dominant patriarchy of the Malayalam filmdom. This was hailed by the justice oriented citizens. The #MeToo movement that brought to the knees many idols of the Malayalam film industry too is a landmark of global society’s efforts to ensure gender justice.
The present epoch has no space for attempts by patriarchal powers to conveniently play down assaults on women. Those in eminent personalities at the helm of politics and culture should undoubtedly decide not to share a stage with Radhakrishnan.
As a collective of women journalists, we see this resistance as our responsibility towards the future women professionals who enter the field and as an endeavour to ensure them a fearless atmosphere. This is not a matter of mere winning and losing involving some individuals. The assault on our colleague has shocked not only the NWMI, but every like-minded person.
We are strongly convinced that no political movement that assimilates change can tolerate an anti-social being reinstated in the media sphere.
We seek unflinching support from the vast social consciousness for our ongoing resistance.

വിഷയം: തിരുവനന്തപുരം പ്രസ് ക്ലബ് സെക്രട്ടറിയായിരുന്ന എം രാധാകൃഷ്ണൻ സഹപ്രവർത്തകയും പ്രസ് ക്ലബ് അംഗവുമായ വനിതയുടെ വീട്ടിൽ കയറി സദാചാര ഗുണ്ടായിസം കാണിച്ച കേസിൽ പ്രസ് ക്ലബിൽ വച്ച് തന്നെ 2019 ഡിസംബറിൽ അറസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു. കേസിൽ പൊലീസ് കുറ്റപത്രം സമർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്. ഞങ്ങൾ വനിതാമാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകരുടെ നിരന്തര സമരത്തിന് ശേഷമാണ് രാധാകൃഷ്ണനെ പ്രസ് ക്ലബിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കിയത്. ജോലി ചെയ്തിരുന്ന സ്ഥാപനം രാധാകൃഷ്ണനെ അനിശ്ചിതമായി സസ്പെൻഡ് ചെയ്തിരിക്കുകയാണ്.എന്നാൽ രാധാകൃഷ്ണൻ വീണ്ടും പ്രസ് ക്ലബിൽ തിരിച്ചെത്തി അയാളുടെ ക്രിമിനൽ പ്രവൃത്തി വെള്ളപൂശാൻ ശ്രമങ്ങൾ തുടരുന്നു. അതി ജീവിച്ച മാധ്യമ പ്രവർത്തകയുടെ നീതി പോരാട്ടത്തിന് ഇത് കനത്ത പ്രഹരമാണ്. അതിനാൽ ക്രിമിനൽ കേസിലെ പ്രതിക്കൊപ്പം വേദി പങ്കിടരുത് എന്ന് Network of Women In Media India യുടെ കേരള ഘടകം രാഷ്ട്രീയ പാർട്ടി നേതാക്കളോടും
പ്രതിയ്ക്ക് പിന്തുണ നൽകുന്ന വാർത്തകൾ നൽകരുതെന്ന് മാധ്യമ സ്ഥാപന മേധാവികളോടും അഭ്യർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.ഇതിനായി NWMI കേരള ഘടകം പുറത്തിറക്കിയ പ്രസ്താവന പൊതു -സാംസ്കാരിക രംഗത്തെ 26 വ്യക്തികളും 80 വനിതാമാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകരും പിന്തുണച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. പ്രസ്താവന പൂർണ്ണരൂപത്തിൽ മെയിലിനൊപ്പം ചേർത്തിട്ടുണ്ട് .
നന്ദിപൂർവം രാഷ്ട്രീയ, സാംസ്കാരികനേതൃത്വങ്ങളിലെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠവ്യക്തികളോട്, വനിതാമാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകകൂട്ടായ്മയുടെ പ്രസ്താവന :
നെറ്റ് വർക്ക് ഓഫ് വിമൻ ഇൻ മീഡിയ ഇന്ത്യ (NWMI ) കേരള ഘടകം
രാഷ്ട്രീയപ്രവർത്തകരും മാദ്ധ്യമ പ്രവർത്തകരും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന കേരളത്തിലെ സംസ്കൃതസമൂഹത്തിന്റെ സ്ത്രീവിരുദ്ധതയ്ക്കെതിരെ ഞങ്ങൾ വനിതാമാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകർ 2019 നവംബർ മുതൽ നിരന്തര സമരത്തിലാണ് . സങ്കടത്തോടെ പറയട്ടെ, വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും ഉരുത്തിരിയുന്ന നീതിനിഷേധങ്ങളെ തുടർന്ന്, ഒരു മഹാമാരികാലത്ത് പോലും, ഈ പ്രതിഷേധത്തിന് അവസാനമുണ്ടാക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നില്ല .
2019 ൽ, ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഒരു സഹപ്രവർത്തകയ്ക്ക് തിരുവനന്തപുരം പ്രസ് ക്ലബിന്റെ സെക്രട്ടറി ആയിരുന്ന എം രാധാകൃഷ്ണനിൽ നിന്ന് നേരിടേണ്ടി വന്ന അതിക്രമത്തിൽ നിന്നാണ് തുടക്കം.
ആക്രമിക്കപ്പെട്ട വനിതയും അവരുടെ ഭർത്താവും ഉൾപ്പെടെ 400 ൽ പരം മാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകർ അംഗങ്ങളായുള്ള പ്രസ് ക്ലബ്ബിന്റെ സെക്രട്ടറി ആയിരുന്നു രാധാകൃഷ്ണൻ. അതിനും പുറമെ, ഈ പത്രപ്രവർത്തക ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്ന സ്ഥാപനത്തിൽ അവരുടെ സഹജീവനക്കാരനും ആയിരുന്നു അയാൾ .
രാത്രിയിൽ അവരുടെ വീട്ടിൽ അതിക്രമിച്ചു കയറിയെന്നു മാത്രമല്ല. ആ മാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകയ്ക്കെതിരെ , അവരുടെ ചെറിയ കുട്ടികളുടെ, മുന്നിൽ വച്ച്, രാധാകൃഷ്ണനും കൂട്ടാളികളും നടത്തിയ ദുരാചാരഗുണ്ടായിസവും അതിക്രമവും തീർത്തും അപലപനീയമാണ് .
പത്രപ്രവർത്തകനായ ഭർത്താവ് നൈറ്റ് ഷിഫ്റ്റിൽ ജോലിയ്ക്കു പോയിരിക്കകയായിരുന്നു . അയാളെ ഫോൺ ചെയ്തു വരുത്താനൊരുങ്ങിയ അവരെ കായികമായി ആക്രമിക്കാനും രാധാകൃഷ്ണൻ ഒട്ടും മടിച്ചില്ല. ഈ ബഹളത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് കേട്ട് , ഭർത്താവ് വീട്ടിലേക്കു പാഞ്ഞെത്തി ,ആ ചെയ്തിയെ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്യുന്നത് വരെ , രാധാകൃഷ്ണന്റെയും കൂട്ടാളികളുടെയും ലഹള തുടര്ന്നു കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
ഇതേക്കുറിച്ച് പോലീസ് കേസ് നിലവിലുണ്ട് . മാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തക നൽകിയ പരാതിയിൽ പോലീസ് അന്വേഷണം നടത്തി കുറ്റപത്രം സമർപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്.
രാധാകൃഷ്ണനും ആക്രമിക്കപ്പെട്ട വനിതയും ജോലിചെയ്യുന്ന മാദ്ധ്യമ സ്ഥാപനം സംഭവ ത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് അന്വേഷണം നടത്തി . പിന്നാലെ , അവിടെ പ്രൂഫ് റീഡർ ആയി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരുന്ന അയാളെ അനിശ്ചിതകാലത്തേയ്ക്ക് സസ്പെൻഡ് ചെയ്തു. ഇതുവരെ രാധാകൃഷ്ണനെ ജോലിയിൽ തിരിച്ചെടുത്തിട്ടുമില്ല.
രാധാകൃഷ്ണനും ആ മാധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകയും അംഗങ്ങൾ ആയ Kerala Union of Working Journalists അന്വേഷണ വിധേയമായി പ്രതിയെ suspend ചെയ്യുകയും, തുടർന്ന് അന്വേഷണറിപ്പോർട്ടിന്റെ അടിസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ , KUWJ യിൽ നിന്ന് പുറത്താക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
NWMI യുടെ ( അഖിലേന്ത്യാ വനിതാമാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തക കൂട്ടായ്മ) നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ പൊതു സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ പിന്തുണയോടെ 2019 ഡിസംബറിൽ പ്രസ് ക്ളബിലേക്ക് നടത്തിയ മാർച്ചിനെ തുടർന്നാണ് രാധാകൃഷ്ണനെ പ്രസ് ക്ലബിൽ നിന്ന് സസ്പെൻഡ് ചെയ്തത്. ആയിടയ്ക്ക്, ഈ ക്രിമിനലിനെ പിന്തുണച്ച് പ്രസംഗിച്ച ഏക രാഷ്ട്രീയ നേതാവ് കേന്ദ്രസഹമന്ത്രി വി മുരളീധരനാണ് ..
സ്ത്രീകളെ ആക്രമിക്കുന്ന സെക്രട്ടറിയെ അറസ്റ്റു ചെയ്യണം എന്നാവശ്യപ്പെട്ട് വനിതാമാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകർ തിരുവനന്തപുരം പ്രസ്ക്ലബ്ബിലെ ഓഫീസിന് മുമ്പിൽ മുദ്രാവാക്യം വിളിയ്ക്കുന്നതും രാധാകൃഷ്ണനെ അയാളുടെ കൂട്ടാളികൾ ഓഫീസിനുള്ളിലെ ഉപമുറിയിൽ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചിരുത്തിയതും, അവസാനം പോലീസ് വന്ന് അയാളെ അറസ്റ്റു ചെയ്തു കൊണ്ട് പോവുന്നതുമൊക്കെ ചരിത്രത്തിൽ ആദ്യമായിട്ടായിരുന്നു. ഇവയൊക്കെ,
ദൃശ്യമാധ്യമങ്ങളിൽ ലൈവ് സംപ്രേക്ഷണമായും പത്രമാദ്ധ്യമങ്ങളിൽ തലക്കെട്ടായുമൊക്കെ പതിഞ്ഞത് എല്ലാവരും ഓർക്കുമല്ലോ .
തുടർന്ന്, പ്രസ് ക്ലബ് , ചട്ടപ്രകാരം , ജനറൽബോഡി ചേർന്ന് അംഗത്വത്തിൽ നിന്ന് അയാളെ പുറത്താക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. എന്നാൽ, നിർഭാഗ്യവശാൽ , ഈ സംഭവത്തിനു ഒരു രണ്ടാം ഭാഗം ഉണ്ടായത് പലരുടെയും ശ്രദ്ധയിൽ പെട്ടിട്ടില്ല എന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു .
ഇതിനെതിരെ രാധാകൃഷ്ണൻ കോടതിയെ സമീപിച്ചതിൽ അനുകൂല വിധി വന്നു എന്ന അവകാശവാദത്തിൽ ഏപ്രിൽ 2021 മുതൽ അയാൾ വീണ്ടും പ്രസ് ക്ലബിൽ സജീവമായിരിക്കയാണ് . ദുരന്ത കാലത്തെ കമ്യൂണിറ്റി കിച്ചൻ തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രസ്ക്ലബ്ബിന്റെ സ്വാഭാവികപ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ , ഈ സ്ത്രീവിരുദ്ധന് , മഹാമാരികാലത്തെ അന്നദാനക്കാരന്റെ മേലങ്കിയണിയാന് ഒരു അവസരമായി എന്ന് പറയാം .
രാഷ്ട്രീയ നേതാക്കളുമായി വേദി പങ്കിട്ടു സ്വന്തം കുറ്റകൃത്യം വെള്ള പൂശാൻ ശ്രമം തുടങ്ങി. ഈ സമരത്തിൽ സജീവമായി ഇടപെട്ട വനിത മാധ്യമ പ്രവർത്തകരെ വ്യക്തിഹത്യ നടത്തുകയും അവർക്കെതിരെ അശ്ലീല അപവാദ പ്രചാരങ്ങൾ അഴിച്ചു വിടുകയും ചെയ്തു. അതോടെ വീണ്ടും ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് പ്രതിരോധം തീർക്കേണ്ടി വന്നു.
ക്ലബ്ജീവിതത്തിൽ, രാധാകൃഷ്ണന് വലംകൈ ആയി നിൽക്കുന്നയാൾ ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നത് കേരളത്തിലെ ഏറ്റവും പഴക്കമേറിയ മാദ്ധ്യമസ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണ് എന്ന യശസ്സാണ് ഇപ്പോൾ അയാളുടെ ഏക പിടി വള്ളി. 2020ൽ തന്നെ , വനിതാമാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകരുടെ ഒരു പ്രതിനിധി സംഘം ഈ മുഖ്യധാരാ മാദ്ധ്യമ സ്ഥാപനത്തിന്റെ റസിഡന്റ് എഡിറ്ററെ കണ്ടു ഈ കാര്യത്തിലെ അനീതിയെക്കുറിച്ച് ധരിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്നു. സ്ത്രീകൾക്കെതിരായ അക്രമത്തിന് മറ്റൊരു മാദ്ധ്യമസ്ഥാപനം സസ്പെൻഡ് ചെയ്ത ഒരാളെ തങ്ങളുടെ സ്ഥാപനത്തിലെ ഒരു പത്രപ്രവർത്തകൻ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കില്ല എന്ന ഉറച്ച നിലപാട് മാന്യനായ ആ എഡിറ്റർ അസന്ദിഗ്ധമായി ഞങ്ങളെ അറിയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതാണ്. ആ ഉറപ്പ് ഇപ്പോൾ ലംഘിക്കപ്പെടുന്നത് , ആ മാദ്ധ്യമമേധാവികളുടെ ശ്രദ്ധയിൽ പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ടാവില്ല എന്ന് വേണം കരുതാൻ .
പ്രസ്ക്ലബ് ഭാരവാഹി എന്ന അധികാരത്തിന് വേണ്ടി ഏതറ്റം വരെയും പോകുന്ന തരത്തിൽ ആണ് രാധാകൃഷ്ണന്റെ നീക്കങ്ങൾ. അയാളുടെ പാനലിൽ നിന്ന് പ്രസ് ക്ലബ് ഇലക്ഷൻ ജയിച്ച മാധ്യമ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിൽ ഉള്ളവർ അന്ധമായി അയാളെ പിന്തുണയ്ക്കുന്നു. അവർക്ക് ഇതു പ്രസ് ക്ലബ് അധികാരത്തോടൊപ്പം കിട്ടുന്ന ചില സാമൂഹ്യപദവികളുടെയും മാത്രം വിഷയമാണ്.
എന്നാൽ മറുഭാഗത്തു കടുത്ത നീതി നിഷേധത്തിന് ഇരയാകുന്നത് ഒരു സ്ത്രീയും അവർക്കൊപ്പം നിന്ന ഒരു കൂട്ടം സ്ത്രീകളുമാണ് എന്ന് ഓർക്കണം . ആക്രമത്തിനും തുടർന്നുള്ള സംഘടിതമായ വിധേയയായ മാധ്യമപ്രവർത്തക ഇപ്പോഴും അതിന്റെ കനത്ത മാനസികാഘാതങ്ങൾക്ക് വൈദ്യചികിത്സയിലാണ്.
രണ്ടു തെറ്റിധാരണകൾ നൽകിയാണ്, രാധാകൃഷ്ണനും അയാളുടെ പാനൽ ചങ്ങാതികളും തല മുതിര്ന്ന രാഷ്ട്രീയനേതാക്കളെ ഇപ്പോൾ തിരുവനന്തപുരം പ്രസ്ക്ലബ്ബ് കമ്മ്യൂണിറ്റി കിച്ചണിലേയ്ക്ക് കൊണ്ട് വരുന്നത്.
ഒന്ന് – ആക്രമിക്കപ്പെട്ട മാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തക രാധാകൃഷ്ണനെതിരെയുള്ള കേസ് പിൻവലിച്ചു എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞ് . രണ്ട് – വനിതാമാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകരുടെ പ്രതിഷേധം, അവർക്കോ അവരുടെ വേണ്ടപ്പെട്ടവർക്കോ , പ്രസ് ക്ലബ്ബിന്റെ അധികാരം ലഭിയ്ക്കാൻ വേണ്ടി മാത്രം ആണ്. പൂർണ്ണമായും വസ്തുതാവിരുദ്ധമാണ് രണ്ട് കാര്യങ്ങളും .
ഒന്ന് , കേസ് പിൻവലിച്ചിട്ടില്ല . ആ മാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകയ്ക്ക് നേരിട്ട അപമാനം ഒരു ഒത്തുതീർപ്പിലും “ഒതുക്കി”യിട്ടില്ല. രണ്ട് , തിരുവനന്തപുരം പ്രസ് ക്ലബ്ബിന്റെ അധികാരം കിട്ടാൻ ഞങ്ങൾക്കാർക്കും ഒരു താല്പര്യവും ഇല്ല . ഒരു ജൻഡർ ക്രൈം കേസിൽ പ്രതി അല്ലാത്ത, ആര് വേണമെങ്കിലും ആ സ്ഥാപനം ഭരിച്ചോട്ടെ എന്നാണ് ഞങ്ങളുടെ നിലപാട് .ഒരു വർഷത്തിൽ ഏറെ ആയി സസ്പെൻഷനിൽ ആയ ഒരാൾ എങ്ങനെ പ്രസ് ക്ലബ് ഭാരവാഹിയായി തിരിച്ചെത്തി?
രാധാകൃഷ്ണന്റെ ക്ഷണം സ്വീകരിച്ച് അയാൾക്കൊപ്പം വേദി പങ്കിട്ട് അയാൾക്ക് വിശ്വാസ്യത പകരാൻ, അറിഞ്ഞോ അറിയാതെയോ , പല സമുന്നതരാഷ്ട്രീയനേതാക്കളും ഒരുമ്പെടാറുണ്ട് . പ്രസ്ക്ലബ് ഓഫിസിൽ ഒപ്പമുള്ള മാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകൻ ജോലിചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രമുഖപത്രസ്ഥാപനത്തിന്റെ ലേബൽ വീശി ക്ഷണിക്കുന്നത് കൊണ്ടാണ് , വിശ്വസിച്ചു പലരും ക്ഷണം സ്വീകരിക്കുന്ന ത് എന്ന് പറയുകയുണ്ടായി. ആ പത്രത്തിന്റെ തലപ്പത്തുള്ളവരാവട്ടെ , ആ സ്ഥാപനത്തിന്റെ പൈതൃകം ദുരുപയോഗപ്പെടുത്തുന്നത് അറിയണം എന്നില്ലല്ലോ .
ചിലരെങ്കിലും , തക്ക സമയത്ത് , അയാളുടെ ക്രിമിനൽ ഐഡന്റിറ്റി ബോദ്ധ്യപ്പെട്ടതോടെ , ആ അബദ്ധത്തിൽ ചെന്ന് പെടാതിരുന്നിട്ടുണ്ട് . എ കെ ആന്റണി , കാനം രാജേന്ദ്രൻ , ബിനോയ് വിശ്വം, ശിവൻകുട്ടി എന്നിവർ ഇക്കാര്യത്തിൽ വിവേചനബുദ്ധി കാട്ടി . അതേസമയം , രമേശ് ചെന്നിത്തലയ്ക്ക് നേരത്തെയും , എ വിജയരാഘവൻ , ആന്റണി രാജു എന്നിവർക്ക് കഴിഞ്ഞ ദിവസവും, ഇക്കാര്യത്തിൽ , ജാഗ്രതക്കുറവുണ്ടായി എന്ന്, നിരാശയോടെ , ചൂണ്ടികാണിക്കട്ടെ .
എന്ത് തരം സന്ദേശമാണ് ഒരു ജെണ്ടർക്രിമിനലിനോടൊപ്പം വേദി
പങ്കിടുന്ന രാഷ്ട്രീയപാർട്ടിനേതാക്കന്മാർ ജനങ്ങൾക്ക് നൽകുന്നത് ? നിങ്ങൾ പ്രകടന പത്രികയിൽ ഉൾപ്പടെ ഉയർത്തിക്കട്ടിയ സ്ത്രീപക്ഷ നിലപടുകൾ വെറും പുറംപൂച്ചാണോ എന്ന് ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ചോദിക്കേണ്ടി വരും. ഒരു ക്രിമിനൽ കേസിലെ പ്രതിയെ വെള്ള പൂശി നീതിയ്ക്ക് വേണ്ടിയുള്ള ഒരു പോരാട്ടത്തെ പിന്നോട്ട് അടിക്കരുത് എന്ന് എല്ലാ രാഷ്ട്രീയ പാർട്ടികളോടും അവയെ നയിക്കുന്നവരോടും ഞങ്ങൾ വിനയപൂർവ്വം അഭ്യർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.
നീതിബോധമുള്ള പൊതു സമൂഹത്തോട്, മലയാള സിനിമ ലോകത്ത് Women In Cinema Collective പ്രബലമായ പുരുഷ മേധാവിത്വത്തെ ചോദ്യം ചെയ്തത് സമീപകാലത്താണ് . അമേരിക്കൻ സിനിമാവ്യവസായത്തിലെ വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ കീഴ്മേൽ മറിയ്ക്കുകയും അഴിയ്ക്കകത്താക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത Me Too Movement ഉം സ്ത്രീനീതിയുടെ പോരാട്ടത്തിൽ ലോകസമൂഹം എവിടെ നിൽക്കുന്നുവെന്ന പുതിയ അടയാളപ്പെടുത്തലുകൾ ആണ്.
വനിതകൾക്കെതിരെയുള്ള അക്രമങ്ങൾ ആണധികാരത്തിന്റെ കണ്ണിചേരൽ കൊണ്ട് കുഴിച്ചിട്ടു മൂടാം എന്ന സൗകര്യപ്രദമായ അനാചാരം മാദ്ധ്യമരംഗത്തും നടത്താനാനാവില്ല എന്നാണ് കാലത്തിന്റെ ചുമരെഴുത്ത്.. കേസിന്റെ അവസാനവിധി വരാതെ, രാധാകൃഷ്ണന്റെ കൂടെ വേദി പങ്കിടില്ല എന്ന് രാഷ്ട്രീയസാംസ്കാരികരംഗത്തെ ശ്രേഷ്ഠവ്യക്തികൾ തീരൂമാനിച്ചേ തീരൂ .
വനിതാമാദ്ധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകകൂട്ടായ്മ എന്ന നിലയിൽ, ഈ മേഖലയിലേയ്ക്ക് ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ശേഷം വരുന്നവർക്കും കൂടി, നിർഭയപ്രവർത്തനത്തിനുള്ള അന്തരീക്ഷം ഒരുക്കാനുള്ള ഉത്തരവാദിത്തമായി ഞങ്ങൾ ഈ പ്രതിരോധത്തെ കാണുന്നു .
ഇതു ഒന്നോ രണ്ടോ വ്യക്തികളുടെ ജയപരാജയങ്ങളുടെ വിഷയമല്ല. ഞങ്ങളുടെ സഹപ്രവർത്തകയായ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയ്ക്ക് നേരെ ഉണ്ടായ ഹിംസ NWMI യെ മാത്രമല്ല, എല്ലാ ജൻഡറിലും ഉള്ള സമാനഹൃദയരെയും ഒന്നടക്കം ഞടുക്കിയ ഒന്നാണ്.
മാറ്റങ്ങളെ ഉൾക്കൊള്ളുന്ന ഒരു ആദർശപ്രസ്ഥാനത്തിനും, മാധ്യമ രംഗത്ത് , ഒരു ദുരാചാരഗുണ്ടയെ അരിയിട്ട് വാഴിയ്ക്കുന്നത് പൊറുക്കാനാവില്ല എന്ന് ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് വിശ്വാസമുണ്ട്.
ഈ സമരത്തിന്, ഞങ്ങൾ വിശാലസാമൂഹ്യമനസ്സാക്ഷിയുടെ സുദൃഢമായ പിന്തുണ തേടുന്നു .
