Members of NWM Bangalore were well represented among the winners of the Laadli Media Awards in 2015. Arathi HN of Doordarshan Bangalore won Southern Region’s award in the electronic media for Best Topical Programme in Kannada. Urmila Channam, journalist, public health professional and gender rights activist, won the National Award for Best Social Media Campaign with ‘Breaking the Silence’ to banish myths, taboos and stigma around menstruation.
