*The death toll in Gaza passed 30,000 according to figures released by the Gazan Health Ministry on February 29, 2024. Of this, around 25,000 are women and children, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said on the same day. Around 80 percent of the Palestinian death toll in the Israel-Hamas conflict has been women and children. What chance does the global community’s promise (The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development ) of achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment have when the biggest fight for women is to survive?
