Meenakshi Shedde Wins Best Film Critic Award at Third Eye Asian Film Festival
Meenakshi Shedde, journalist and member of the Network of Women in Media, India, won the Sudhir V Nandgaonkar Memorial Award for Best Film Critic at the 22nd Third Eye Asian Film Festival held in Mumbai in January 2026.
Meenakshi Shedde said she was honoured to win the award, and that the late Sudhir Nandgaonkar played a significant role in her writing journey. Meenakshi Shedde has served as film curator/programmer at the Toronto, Berlin, Locarno, Busan, Dubai and IFFI film festivals. She has also been Cannes jury and Golden Globes international voter.
The award is instituted in the memory of the founder-director of the festival, Sudhir Nandgaonkar who was film critic at the Marathi daily Loksatta and is credited as the pioneer of the film society movement in Maharashtra. He served as president of the India chapter of FIPRESCI, the International Federation of Film Critics. The Third Eye Asian Film Festival is organised by the Asian Film Foundation.
