The citation noted the book is a work of grave moral attention and disciplined reportage.

The Ramnath Goenka Sahithya Samman (RNGSS) awards are instituted by The New Indian Express. For the third edition of RNGSS, books released between July 2024 and June 2025 were considered for nomination.
