At the end of 2020, NWMI organised a virtual meet up for all its members across India. With over half our members having joined the network over the past couple of years, the meet provided a quick orientation highlighting key aspects of the NWMI. Around 100 members logged on for the network’s first ever virtual national meet.

Some of our founder members briefed everyone on what brought media women together almost two decades ago, the network’s growth and evolution over the years, key milestones and how we can continue to strengthen the bonds built through mutual support and solidarity in the years to come.

In order to acquaint members with network functioning and processes, Laxmi Murthy shared a PPT presentation. Continuing with this, Geeta Seshu compiled a quiz “Superfantastic: How well do you know your NWMI”.

Vasanthi Hariprakash was the MC for the day, as members from across the country shared their experiences of living, working and coping during 2020, while some others showcased their varied talents and interests – from poetry and prose to songs, gardening and humour! The celebrations continued offline as members’ creative contributions which were left out because of lack of time, were shared through the NWMI group email.
