Kanika Gupta wins Short Documentary Award at One World Media Awards 2025
Kanika Gupta, a member of the Network of Women in Media, India, has won the Short Documentary Award for her film, The Waiting Game, at the One World Media Awards 2025.
According to the organisers, the award is given to a short documentary film that explores a story or topic in the global south, and recognises impactful, character-driven storytelling with a creative approach.
The Waiting Game explore the impact of India and Pakistan’s increasingly polarised geopolitical tensions on the fabric of people’s everyday lives through the eyes of journalist Jatin Desai and three families from the coastal belt of Gujarat and Diu.
