It’s time again to congratulate one of our own! We’re very proud to announce that our member Poornima R has been awarded the Karnataka Lekhakiyara Sangha award for Excellence in Writing in Kannada this year.
Poornima, the debut awardee for this honour celebrating outstanding work by a woman journalist in the Kannada press, was felicitated in a grand ceremony. The award is constituted by Nagamani S. Rao, an iconic Kannada news reader on Akashavani. Nagamani is the first woman correspondent who entered the press gallery of the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru to report on Assembly proceedings.
