Afrida Hussain and Sanna Irshad Mattoo, members of the Network of Women in Media, India, were recognised at the The Public India Digital Media Awards 2026. Afrida Hussain won the Jagdeep Chhokar Award for Meaningful Journalism, and Sanna Irshad Mattoo won the Danish Siddiqui Award for Photojournalism.
Sukanya Shantha, Senior Assistant Editor at The Wire, and member of the Network of Women in Media, India, won the 2025 Vishwa Nath-Delhi Press Award for Fearless Journalism awarded by The Media Foundation.
Anna M.M. Vetticad, independent journalist and member of the Network of Women in Media, India, won the Chameli Devi Jain Award for Outstanding Woman Media Person of the Year (2025).
Safeena Wani, independent journalist and member of the Network of Women in Media, India, has won the Reporter of the Year – (Publishing) at the 10th Indian Institute of Mass Communication Alumni Association (IIMCAA) Awards.
