The 20th National Meeting of the Network of Women in Media, India (NWMI) will be held in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala from 6 to 8 February 2026.
This year’s theme is Media at the Crossroads: Independence vs Influence.
Tora Agarwala, member of the Network of Women in Media, India, and independent journalist, was awarded the International Press Institute India Award for Excellence in Journalism 2024 (Special Appreciation by Jury) earlier this year. She was awarded for her reportage of the ethnic conflict in Manipur in Scroll.
Members of the Network of Women in Media, India, were recognised for their work at the 15th edition of the Laadli Media &Advertising Awards for Gender Sensitivity 2025. They recognise gender sensitivity in the media. The regional edition honoured 63 print, web, and TV journalists from across India.
Neha Dixit, member of the Network of Women in Media, India, was awarded the 2025 Ramnath Goenka Sahithya Samman in the Best Debut category for her book, The Many Lives of Syeda X: The Story of an Unknown Indian. The citation noted the book is a work of grave moral attention and disciplined reportage.
The Network of Women in Media, India (NWMI) is shocked and deeply saddened to learn about the sudden death of our member and colleague. Sonal Kellogg was one of the founder members of NWMI.
