(AMF) invites applications for AMF Journalism
Fellowships 2006-07 from self-motivated working
journalists who aspire to focus on and improve
their coverage of human rights.
The two-week fellowship
provides to 20 mid-career print and electronic
media journalists an opportunity to work in the
field in various Asian countrieson themes relating
to human rights women's rights, the right
to education, right to food, right to human security
in conflict and
emergencies (specially tsunami-related issues),
right to life and dignity in the face of HIV and
AIDS, and right to just and democratic governance.
Selected fellows will get a 2,000 U.S. dollar
fellowship grant that covers incidentals, travel
and stipend, while local hospitality will be provided
by AMF's partners in the respective countries,
where they are placed.
Interested applicants
are asked to submit to
info@asiamediaforum.org the following:
- A CV
- Two original news features
on rights and development (print journalists)
and one documentary or TV report segment (VHS/DVD)
that will be used as
contributions to the AMF website
- Written _expression of interest
in the fellowship and what the applicant
goes to gain from it
- Letter of endorsement of
participation by the editor/station manager/head
of organisation
The
deadline for print journalists is October 25,
2006.
The
deadline for broadcast journalists is October
30, 2006.
