TIME magazine appoints its first woman managing editor, Nancy Gibbs

53-year old Nancy Gibbs, TIME magazine’s champion of digitization and primary voice during American presidential elections and moments of national crisis was appointed its managing editor on September 17, 2013. The first woman to occupy the post, she co-authored two bestsellers about the modern presidency and has written 174 cover stories on various subjects in her 25 years at the publication.
