Sumi Krishna

Sumi Krishna, now Bangalore-based writer, researcher and teacher, was a senior correspondent and features editor, with the Hindustan Times, New Delhi, for 10 years, then managed a global water and health information programme at the International Institute for Environment and Development, London. Since 1985 she has worked independently as a journalist and later in academics, serving as President of the Indian Association for Women's Studies (2005-08), and publishing several essays and books on gender and natural resource-based livelihoods. Sumi is founder-moderator of the e-discussion group 'jivika' (livelihood), which was started in 2003: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jivika/
